1. About Al Noor Kids

Al Noor Kids ("the App", "we", "us") is an Islamic family-management web and mobile application for Muslim parents and their children. Al Noor Kids helps families track prayers, chores, Qur'an learning, adhkar, duas and rewards, with AI-assisted features (Noor Chat, quizzes, and weekly digest). By creating an account, you accept these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

2. Non-scholarly disclaimer

Al Noor Kids is not a religious authority, madrasa, or scholarly body. The content presented in the App — including duas, adhkar, Qur'an audio, quiz questions, chatbot answers, reminders, and any interpretation of Islamic practice — represents basic Deen from the Qur'an and authentic (sahih) Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ only. Al Noor Kids does not represent, endorse, or align with any particular madhab, sect, school, teacher, or scholar. It is not a substitute for guidance from a qualified Islamic scholar. For rulings on ‘aqidah, fiqh, or any nuanced matter, please consult a trusted local scholar.

3. Who may use the App

Parent accounts must be created by an adult who is at least 18 years old and legally responsible for the children they add to the family. By creating a child profile, the parent confirms that they are the child's legal parent or guardian and are providing verifiable parental consent for the child's use of the App as required by:

  • United States — Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), 15 U.S.C. §§ 6501–6506
  • California — CalOPPA and CCPA (as amended by CPRA), including CCPA-K
  • Canada — PIPEDA and Québec Law 25
  • European Union / UK — GDPR Article 8 and the UK Age-Appropriate Design Code
  • Australia — Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles
  • Brazil — Lei Geral de Proteção de Dados (LGPD), Law 13.709/2018
  • United Arab Emirates — Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 (UAE PDPL)
  • Kingdom of Saudi Arabia — Personal Data Protection Law (2021, as amended)
  • Any equivalent local child data-protection law applicable to the user's residence

4. Account security

Parents are responsible for keeping their account credentials confidential, for supervising each child profile in the family, and for the accuracy of any information entered. Report any unauthorised use immediately via the contact address below.

5. AI-generated content

Some features of the App use large language models (currently Google Gemini and OpenAI, delivered through our integration provider) to generate answers, quizzes, chore ideas, and weekly summaries. AI-generated content may contain factual errors, incomplete translations, or nuance beyond the model's ability. All AI content is provided for family education and encouragement onlyand must not be treated as an authoritative religious ruling. Always verify important matters with the Qur'an, authentic Sunnah, and a qualified scholar.

6. Kid-safety commitment

The App is built for children as young as 3. We commit to (i) age-appropriate content by default, (ii) content moderation on the Noor Chat with parent-visible flags for review, (iii) no advertising to children, (iv) no third-party trackers used to profile children for marketing, and (v) parent-only controls over verification mode, pocket money, GPS consent, and account deletion.

7. GPS & location features

The optional Safe Places / Safe-Arrival feature collects device location coordinates when — and only when — the parent has explicitly opted in on the Settings page, AND the child has enabled the "Share my location" toggle on their own dashboard. Details of what is collected, retained and how consent may be revoked are described in the Privacy Policy and the separate GPS Consent document you must accept before turning the feature on.

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the App to harass, defame, or endanger any person, especially children;
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or attack the App or its infrastructure;
  • Upload content that infringes copyright, is unlawful, or is offensive under Islamic ethics;
  • Impersonate any person, family, or scholar;
  • Use the AI features to circumvent parental oversight or moderation.

9. Rewards, pocket money & virtual points

"Noor" points are virtual, non-monetary tokens for in-family motivation. Cash-out conversions in the Pocket Money module are between the parent and child only; Al Noor Kids does not process, transmit, or store real money. Al Noor Kids is not a payment institution.

10. Suspension & termination

We may suspend or terminate an account that violates these Terms, endangers a child, or misuses the AI features. Parents may delete their family account at any time from Settings; this removes all associated child profiles, logs, chat history, and location data within 30 days.

11. Disclaimers

The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim liability for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses arising from use of the App, AI outputs, or GPS features. This does not exclude liability that cannot lawfully be excluded (e.g., gross negligence or wilful misconduct).

12. Changes to these Terms

We will notify parents of material changes via email and an in-app banner requiring re-acceptance before continuing to use the App. Small clarifications are shown on this page with an updated "Effective" date.

13. Governing law & disputes

Users interact with Al Noor Kids from many countries. Where local law grants the user rights that may not be waived (child-data protection, consumer rights, right of withdrawal), those rights prevail. For all other matters, English law governs these Terms and the courts of England & Wales have non-exclusive jurisdiction.

14. Contact

Questions, complaints, or data-subject requests: info@alnoorkids.com. We aim to respond within 30 days.

In short

Al Noor Kids is a kid-first, ad-free, family-controlled Islamic app. It teaches basic Deen from Qur'an and Sunnah, not any specific school or scholar. Parents control everything sensitive — GPS, chat visibility, pocket money, and account deletion.
